Contraception Management
At Ova Women’s Healthcare, we offer comprehensive contraception management with both hormonal and non-hormonal options. We understand that contraception isn’t always just about preventing pregnancy. In fact, more than half of American women use birth control for other reasons such as cycle regulation, acne, painful periods, and hormonal balance. We take a personalized, whole-person approach to help you choose the method that best fits your body, lifestyle, and long-term goals.
Female Sexual Arousal Disorders
Sometimes, a woman may notice that her body or mind doesn’t respond to sexual touch, thoughts, or intimacy the way it once did. This is often described as a sexual arousal concern, when things like kissing, touching, or even erotic thoughts no longer create the same physical or emotional response. Arousal involves both the body and the mind, so changes in hormones, stress, or emotional connection can all play a role.
Dyspareunia
This disorder is persistent or recurrent genital pain that occurs just before, during or after intercourse, or other sexual activities involving vaginal penetration.
Recurrent Vaginitis
Recurrent or persistent vaginal infections can be frustrating and disruptive. We diagnose and treat all forms of vaginitis—including bacterial vaginosis (BV), yeast infections, and more complex or recurrent cases that have been difficult to identify or treat elsewhere. When indicated, we also provide partner treatment and comprehensive screening and management for sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
Hyposexual Desire Disorder (HSDD)
Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder (HSDD) is defined by a chronic deficiency or absence of sexual fantasies and desire for sex or sexual activity.
Vulvar/Vaginal Atrophy
Hormonal changes as women ages from decreased estrogen and testosterone production causes vaginal and vulvar tissue to become thin and it can be one of the most common causes of sexual pain/discomfort.
Dermatological Vulvar Disorders
Vulvar/vaginal skin disorders are quite common and often not discussed by patients and healthcare providers often because the patient does not know if it is a gynecological problem or a dermatologic problem.
Vulvodynia/ Vestibulodynia/Vaginismus
Chronic vulvar pain—often labeled as vulvodynia, vestibulitis, vaginismus or simply “unexplained pain”—is frequently underrecognized and misunderstood. At Ova, we take your pain seriously. We specialize in helping uncover the root cause through thoughtful evaluation, gentle exam, and, when indicated, biopsy. Because chronic vulvar pain often requires a multidisciplinary approach, we collaborate with pelvic floor therapists, dermatologists, interventional pain specialists, and mental health providers to ensure your care is both comprehensive and compassionate.
Pelvic Floor Dysfunction
This happens when the pelvic floor muscles are out of balance, either too tight (high tone) or too weak (low tone). When these muscles aren’t working in harmony, it can lead to issues such as urinary leakage, constipation, pain with intercourse, or discomfort in the lower back, pelvis, or genital and rectal areas.
Orgasm Problems
A woman with Female Orgasmic Disorder (FOD) consistently cannot achieve an orgasm despite adequate sexual stimulation and arousal. Women with FOD are unable to reach orgasm with their partner or through self-stimulation (masturbation).
Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder (PGAD)
Genito pelvic dysesthesia (GPD) is often known as Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder (PGAD) which is defined as excessive, unwanted physical arousal without a desire for sexual activity.
Urinary Tract Infections (UTI’s)
Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are the most common infections that usually occur when bacteria enter the opening of the urethra and grow inside of the urinary tract.
Interstitial Cystitis
Interstitial Cystitis (IC), also known as painful bladder syndrome, is another type of pelvic condition in which the bladder lining becomes severely inflamed and causes pain and pressure in the pelvic area around the bladder.
